Display blackouts after one
full round of ACPI-Hot key switch with FSDOS on |
SoftBIOS |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: This issue occurs
because when we do ACPI display switch in FSDOS, a variable value in the
SoftBIOS is being wrongly updated. Hence, when display tries to set Windowed
mode, this variable returns a wrong value to the algorithm and the issue
occurs. Fix: This issue has been
fixed in SoftBIOS component of the driver. |

LVDS brightness is neither
increasing nor decreasing after resume from sleep on PWM configuration |
Power Conservation |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: PC registers is not restored. Due to this, the complete
Backlight Inverter Enabling Logic fails, ending up in non-functional
Backlight keys. Fix: PWM register, which was not being restored after S3-resume,
has been fixed. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID: 3003544 |
Display Blankouts (CRT and LFP) when
CxSR (Intel® Rapid Memory Power Management) is disabled by setting the Bit0
to 1 in register in FeatureTestControl for PWM configuration. |
VBIOS |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: VBIOS was not programming the right
value when PWM inverted mode is selected from VBT and BIOS settings screen. Fix: VBIOS, which was corrupting the BLM
duty, cycle while programming BLM frequency has been fixed now. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID: 3003568 |
PNV08-When Monitor + LVDS in Clone
mode, resolution cannot be change to 1280x800 after setting other resolution
previously. |
NT-Miniport |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ D400 and Intel® Atom™
D500 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: The issue occurs because in DDC. The
mode list passed to CUI is different from the mode list that OS has. Fix: The enumeration of 12 X 8 @ 60 Hz
was not done for OS in Clone mode, as done for CUI. A new function was added
which generates a new mode list in case of Clone. This fixed the issue. |

Television & Digital
Display options are listed in OS property page in Advance settings. |
CUI |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: Digital Display and TV
are not POR for PNV platform. CUI by default is showing all devices options
in Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile under OS properties
page. These options need to be removed from the page. This is a CUI bug. Fix: TV and DFP has been
hidden now in OS properties page. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID: 2955287 |
For MCCS monitor, "Advanced
Settings" tab is missing in CUI |
SoftBIOS |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: Driver is sending back
signals to CUI that monitor is not supporting MCCS. Hence, CUI is not showing
Advance Settings button. Fix: This has been fixed in
SoftBIOS. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID: 3002204 |
CUI Hot Key Ctrl+alt+f1
goes to DDC mode after unplugging CRT1 and the Plugging Back CRT1 |
CUI |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: When ctrl+alt+F1 is
pressed, CRT is identified and is tried to switch. CUI is reading EDID data,
getting monitor code from registry, and getting it from driver. Comparing it,
if both were not matching then monitor ID is not filled and hence driver is
suggesting optimal config to DDC. This monitor ID is missing because of
monitor code coming from registry is wrong. This is a bug in CUI – The
monitor code needs to be correctly stored in registry and retrieved. Fix: In XP, the EDID is not
written in the registry and is not checked while getting UID of the device.
This fixes the issue. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID:
3002240 |
LFP blackouts in
Extended mode when configures to CRT+LFP in DC mode. |
Power Conservation |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: This issue happens only
with PWM method is used to control brightness and selected from VBIOS and
CMOS. However, with EDS
CRT+LFP the programming sequence is wrong. Therefore, display blacks out. This
is a problem with PC with programming sequence when LFP is secondary in EDS
using PWM method. Fix: Updating the structure
being passed to PowerCons with correct display config fixes the issue. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID: 3002087 |
Rotation tab missing in CUI
after resuming from S3 and S4 |
CUI |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: This is because when CUI
queries rotation feature supported or not after S3/S4, it is getting information
as not supported. Because during Resume, the CDS call fails as OS is not
finished with enumeration. Fix: The proper mode
enumeration to OS is now taken care of by the driver and fixes the issue. |

Bug ID: 2954725 |
Balloon notification is not popping up when resolution was set to non
native from native resolution |
CUI |
Windows XP* |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: This issue is seen both on CRT legacy monitors without
EDID and on monitors with EDID monitors. The balloon notification for optimal
mode is not showing up. For Legacy monitors, when CUI is querying data for
native mode, the driver is returning x as 0 and y as 0, so CUI is not
populating any optimal mode and balloon notification not seen. This is
expected behavior when VBT does not have a maximum mode mentioned in VBT.
However, when VBT has maximum mode, then balloon notification should come up
and this is an issue. For monitors with EDID, balloon notification is not
coming up and this is an issue as well. Fix: CUI component code change now fixes the issue on
monitors with EDID and on non-EDID monitors with maximum supported mode set
in the VBT. |
|||||||||||
Bug ID: 2954997 |
CRT Blanks out does not
return to command prompt in FSDOS. |
GDI |
Windows* XP |
Intel® Atom™ N400 Series |
|||||||
Root Cause: When FSDOS is set on CRT
then display blanks out. This issue is not seen with LVDS display. Fix: For Native VGA modes, VGA
MSR based control did not work. Hence now moved to using 'Disabled VGA
control' mode for such instances. |
