The Overall Sensor Values

On the home page of ASWM, click the photo of the system. The information panel will show the overall list of all sensor values. The sensors are put together according to their belongings of health groups. There are four columns in overall table: sensor's name, sensor's value, value's unit and description.
  • Sensor's name: each sensor has a unique name. At the first glance, sensors can be roughly divided into two types: hardware and non-hardware. These sensor names usually have fixed format and they are seldom changed even on different system model.
  • Sensor's value & value's unit: most of sensors have values and units in Physics. These sensors are usually measured by applying some specific formulas.
  • Description: some sensors are naturally descriptive instead of numerical. For example, sensor values of Disks S.M.A.R.T. or sensor values of RAID status are multiple states and each state represents its health condition. Hence the sensor value is composite of state descriptions. Another example would be the sensors of backplane's drive bays. These are only indicating the state of on-line or off-line.
